Building something,
not defending it.
Coastal Tribe was started by a group of siblings and cousins who grew up doing Shabbat dinners together. It was always the highlight of our week — the one night where everything slowed down, the table was full, and we actually felt connected to something bigger than ourselves.
After October 7th, we realized how much our generation needed more spaces like that. Not to defend our identity, but to celebrate it. Most Jewish community energy right now is reactive — fighting antisemitism, responding to hate. That work matters. But it's not the whole story, and it's not what we're building.
We wanted to bring what we had growing up to the broader community — real Shabbat meals, real prayers, real substance, wrapped in experiences that meet young Jewish professionals and couples where they already are. Spaces where the entry point is joy, connection, tradition, and meaning.
The bet: if you give young Jews a place to celebrate who they are, they'll build a stronger relationship to it on their own.
